Baramulla, Dec 20 : Baramulla Police have registered an FIR in connection with a landslide incident that occurred at Khanpora on Friday, allegedly caused by illegal stone quarrying in the area.
Police said the sudden slide of debris and earth posed a serious threat to human life and raised fears of damage to public and private property. A police team immediately reached the spot, assessed the situation, and ensured that no loss of life had occurred.
In this regard, Police Station Baramulla has registered FIR No. 219/2025 under relevant sections of law. An investigation has been launched to identify and take action against those responsible for the illegal activity.
Police reiterated their commitment to public safety and said strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in unlawful quarrying.
