Incident under investigation, say officials
Jammu, Dec 24: An Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) lost his life after sustaining a gunshot injury while on duty in Samba district on Wednesday, official sources said.
Defence sources said the incident took place during duty hours. The injured JCO was immediately evacuated for medical treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officials have clarified that there is no terror-related angle in the incident at this stage. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the incident, and further details are awaited.
