Qazigund, Jan 8: Security arrangements were tightened along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) in the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
Police intensified checking and frisking operations to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. The drive was led by SHO Qazigund Syed Nazir Indrabi under the supervision of the ASP Highway and SDPO Qazigund, on the directions of SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary.
Officials said a close watch is being maintained on the overall security situation in the district, with senior police officers personally monitoring arrangements to ensure a safe and secure environment during the Republic Day celebrations.
