Mufti Noor Ahmad Noor, the head of the Afghan Taliban’s embassy in New Delhi, held a meeting with Afghan traders residing in India, aimed at addressing their concerns and strengthening coordination between the embassy and the trading community.
During the interaction, Afghan traders apprised the embassy head of various challenges they are facing, including issues related to trade facilitation, documentation, banking constraints, and logistical hurdles while operating in India.
Mufti Noor Ahmad Noor assured the traders that resolving their problems remains a top priority for the Afghan embassy. He said the mission is actively working to identify practical solutions and to engage with relevant authorities wherever necessary to ease difficulties faced by Afghan businesspersons.
“The concerns of Afghan traders are important, and the embassy will make all possible efforts to address them in a timely manner,” he told the gathering, according to sources familiar with the meeting.
The interaction comes at a time when Afghan traders in India continue to navigate uncertainties following political changes in Afghanistan, alongside ongoing challenges in cross-border trade and financial transactions.
Traders welcomed the outreach by the embassy, describing it as a positive step towards improving communication and trust. They expressed hope that sustained engagement would lead to smoother trade operations and better support mechanisms.
The Afghan embassy in New Delhi has been holding periodic meetings with Afghan nationals to understand their issues and provide assistance within the framework of existing diplomatic and trade channels.
