Jammu, Jan 31: A fresh encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Dolgam area of Kishtwar district in the early hours of Friday, officials said.
According to the White Knight Corps, contact with the terrorists was re-established during the ongoing joint counter-terror operation “TRASHI-I” on January 31, 2026. The operation is being conducted by troops of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the White Knight Corps said that intelligence inputs from multiple agencies were carefully coordinated to execute the operation on the ground. Acting on specific information, security forces launched a search operation and subsequently established contact with the hiding terrorists.

Following the encounter, a cordon was immediately laid around the area, and intensive search and combing operations are currently underway to neutralise the terrorists and prevent their escape. Additional reinforcements have been deployed to strengthen the security grid in and around the encounter site.
Officials said the situation remains tense but under control, and all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure civilian safety. Further details are expected as the operation progresses.
Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and countering terrorist threats in the region.
