Srinagar, Jan 19: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Monday said that the administration has put all necessary arrangements in place to ensure smooth and successful Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar.
Talking to reporters, Garg said that children are enthusiastic about participating in the cultural programmes, with rehearsals already underway at Bakhshi Stadium. He added that the festive spirit is visible across the city as preparations move into the final phase.
The Divisional Commissioner said the illumination of government buildings across Srinagar has begun to mark the national occasion. “Republic Day is a very important festival for us. Every department is preparing to celebrate it at their respective offices and levels,” he said.
Garg also noted that Srinagar is undergoing a noticeable civic transformation under the Smart City Mission, with several key infrastructure and public service projects nearing completion ahead of the celebrations.
