Jammu , Jan 14 : Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, and other senior officials are scheduled to arrive in Jammu on January 14 for a two-day visit to review the security situation in the Union Territory. The agenda will include anti-terror operations and efforts to prevent cross-border infiltration, including drone-borne weapons attempts from Pakistan.

Upon arrival, the officials will hold a high-level security review at the Police Headquarters in Jammu. The meeting will be attended by the Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, UT Home Secretary Chandraker Bharti, DGP Nalin Prabhat, IB chief Nitish Kumar, top J&K Police officers, IGPs, and heads of paramilitary and central intelligence agencies.

Discussions are expected to focus on ongoing anti-terror operations in hilly areas such as Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, and Udhampur, including efforts to track and neutralize hiding terrorists. Security forces have reportedly made multiple contacts with terrorist groups recently, though some have evaded capture. Agencies are maintaining heightened alert along the LoC and IB to prevent any infiltration attempts. Strengthening the Anti-Infiltration Grid will also be part of the review.

The delegation is likely to visit the International Border in Jammu for an on-the-ground assessment. The visit comes less than a week after Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a security review on January 8 in New Delhi, emphasizing mission-mode counter-terror operations and the government’s commitment to lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

The officials are expected to return to New Delhi on the afternoon of January 15.
