Anantnag, Jan 13: Security forces on Tuesday launched a search operation in the Gadole area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir following specific intelligence inputs about the possible presence of suspicious elements.
Officials said a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) cordoned off the area early in the morning and initiated a systematic search to ensure security and prevent any movement of suspects.
Residents in the vicinity were advised to remain indoors as a precautionary measure while the operation was underway. Security personnel were seen conducting door-to-door checks and thoroughly scanning nearby forested and residential areas.
Sources said the operation was launched as part of routine security measures aimed at maintaining peace and thwarting any potential militant activity. No exchange of fire had been reported at the time of filing this report.
