Akhnoor , Jan 10 : A suspicious pigeon was caught in a forward village near the Line of Control in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Saturday, officials said.
The pale grey pigeon, marked with two black bars on each wing, was found carrying red and yellow rings on its legs bearing inscriptions reading “Rehmat Sarkar” and “Rizwan 2025,” along with certain numbers. Officials said the bird was caught by a 13-year-old boy, Aryan, at Kharah village during the morning hours.
The pigeon’s wings were also found to have stamps, raising suspicion. Following the recovery, the bird was handed over to the Pallanwala police station for further investigation.
Officials said the matter is being examined to ascertain the origin and purpose of the markings on the pigeon.
