Ganderbal, Jan 1, 2026: Ganderbal Police have issued a public advisory announcing the temporary suspension of Virtual Private Network (VPN) services across the district, effective immediately.
The move follows directives from the District Magistrate, citing public safety, cyber security, and law and order concerns. Authorities said the restriction is aimed at preventing potential misuse of VPNs that could interfere with monitoring mechanisms or compromise overall security.
Residents have been urged to comply with the order and refrain from using VPN services on all digital devices during the restriction period. Violations may result in strict legal action under applicable laws.
Police called on the public to cooperate fully to ensure peace, security, and public welfare in the district.
