Rajasthan, Dec 31: A major explosives recovery has been reported in Tonk district. The DST team has seized a huge consignment of explosive material, leading to the arrest of two accused.

According to police officials, the District Special Team intercepted a suspicious car in the Barawani Police Station area during a routine check. Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered nearly 150 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, cleverly concealed inside urea fertilizer bags.

Along with the chemical material, authorities also recovered 200 explosive cartridges and six bundles of safety–fuse wire. Each bundle contained approximately 183 meters of wire, taking the total seized fuse wire to more than 1,100 meters.

The two accused — identified as Surendra Patwa and Surendra Mochi, both residents of Bundi district — have been taken into custody. Police say the duo was transporting the explosives from Bundi to Tonk for suspected supply.

Officials confirm that the vehicle used in the operation has also been seized. Meanwhile, police are conducting detailed interrogation to determine where the explosive material was headed and the intended purpose of its use.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected as the police probe continues.
