Baramulla, Dec 27: Baramulla Police on Friday took swift action against two individuals for indulging in dangerous driving stunts on snow-covered roads in Gulmarg, posing a serious threat to pedestrians and other road users.
Police Station Gulmarg registered FIR No. 19/2025 under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act against Imad ur Rehman Miya of Molvi Stop, Lal Bazar, Srinagar and Mohd Munzarin Kullu of Alamdar Colony, Lal Bazar, Srinagar.
According to police, the accused were found performing reckless stunts on slippery roads during snowfall, creating a life-threatening situation in the tourist hotspot. The vehicles involved in the incident—JK01BB-3417 and JK01AP-5151—were seized on the spot, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
In addition to legal action, the accused were counselled and sternly warned against repeating such behaviour. They were advised to strictly adhere to traffic norms, particularly during adverse weather conditions when roads become highly vulnerable.
Baramulla Police urged the public, especially young drivers, to refrain from thrill-seeking activities on public roads and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of locals and tourists visiting Gulmarg.
