Srinagar, Dec 25: A man from Pulwama district was found dead inside a houseboat moored along the Jhelum River at Amira Kadal, Srinagar, on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Younis Nisar, a resident of Pulwama.
Police were alerted immediately after the body was discovered and a team reached the site to take cognizance of the matter. The body has been shifted for medico-legal formalities to determine the exact cause of death.
Officials noted that this is the second death reported in Srinagar within a few hours, following the discovery of an unidentified man near LD Hospital earlier in the day. Authorities have initiated investigations into both cases to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
