Srinagar: Srinagar Traffic Police on Tuesday carried out a major enforcement drive near Iqbal Park to tighten compliance with traffic rules and improve road safety. Senior officers, including SSP Traffic Srinagar Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, were present on the spot to supervise the operation.

During the drive, police teams checked two-wheelers, four-wheelers and e-rickshaws for valid documents such as driving licences, registration certificates, insurance and pollution certificates. The operation led to a visible increase in police presence in the area.

Officials said the exercise is part of sustained efforts to improve traffic discipline and ensure smoother vehicular movement across the city.

Speaking at the site, SSP Aijaz Ahmad Bhat said such enforcement drives are conducted daily. “These checks are meant to ensure that everyone follows traffic rules. Our focus is on smooth traffic flow and the safety of all road users,” he said.

Traffic Police have urged motorists to cooperate with enforcement teams and strictly follow traffic regulations, adding that similar checking drives will continue at different locations across Srinagar.
