Srinagar ,Dec 24 : A residential house was gutted in a fire incident that broke out in the early hours at Kalashpora area of Srinagar on Wednesday. The fire was brought under control due to the prompt response of the Fire and Emergency Services.
Officials said the fire call was received at the Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters, Batamaloo, at 7:21 am, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot within a minute. Firefighting teams from Babdem and Shaheed Humayun Pora fire stations responded immediately, while additional support from the MR Gunj fire station was deployed considering the congested locality.

The operation was supervised by Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Dr Mir Aqib Hussain and Mobilising Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah. Their timely intervention helped save an adjacent building from damage.
Director General Fire and Emergency Services Alok Kumar (IPS) has urged residents of Srinagar to exercise caution while using electrical appliances, particularly during peak morning and evening hours, to reduce the risk of fire incidents.
