JAMMU DEC, 21: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday interacted with young people in Jammu under her outreach programme “Guftagu” after holding a similar interaction in Srinagar earlier. Listening to the concerns and aspirations of the youth, Mehbooba Mufti said such dialogues are essential to understand the ground realities of Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, while speaking to the media, the PDP chief said that the bill brought by her party was aimed at putting a stop to bulldozer actions in Jammu and Kashmir. However, she alleged that the Omar Abdullah-led government is functioning according to its own calculations and priorities.

Mehbooba Mufti also urged the Central Government to respect and understand the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She stressed that policies should be framed with sensitivity, keeping in mind the emotions, rights and issues faced by the local population.

Reiterating PDP’s stand, she said that dialogue, justice and public trust are key to restoring confidence and peace in the region.
