Jammu, December 21: The Mughal Road has been temporarily closed after fresh snowfall at Pir Ki Gali, officials said on Sunday.

District Traffic authorities in Poonch said the road, which connects Shopian with Rajouri and Poonch districts, was shut as a precautionary measure following snowfall in the high-altitude stretch. Vehicular movement has been suspended to ensure public safety.

Travelers have been advised to avoid using the Mughal Road until weather conditions improve and the road is declared safe for traffic.

Meanwhile, light snowfall has also been reported from tourist destinations Gulmarg and Sonamarg, indicating a further drop in temperatures across higher reaches of Kashmir.
