Srinagar, Dec 20 : A man was detained at Srinagar International Airport on Friday after security personnel discovered that he was travelling on a fake air ticket.
The incident occurred early in the morning at the airport’s drop gate, where the passenger was intercepted during routine verification while preparing to travel from Srinagar to Delhi. On checking the documents, officials found the ticket to be forged.
During questioning, the passenger admitted that the air ticket was fake. He was taken into custody, and his mobile phone was seized. Authorities also seized a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK-04A-9887, along with some of his associates, in connection with the case.
The detained individual and the seized items were handed over to Police Post Humhama for further investigation. Legal proceedings have been initiated to identify the source of the fake ticket and to ascertain whether a larger network is involved.
