Handwara, Dec 20 : A junior resident doctor at Government Medical College Handwara has been suspended after a video went viral showing a patient left unattended on a hospital trolley. The doctor was also serving as the hospital’s security incharge.
The Medical Superintendent ordered the suspension and directed a fast-track inquiry to examine the incident and fix accountability. A five-member committee comprising senior doctors and administrative officials has been constituted and asked to submit its report within a day.
Officials said the decision was taken to closely scrutinise the circumstances highlighted in the video. Copies of the suspension order have been forwarded to higher health authorities and the district administration.
Further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry. Authorities said the move reflects the administration’s commitment to patient safety and strict adherence to hospital protocols.
