Sopore, Dec 18: A leopard attack was reported early this morning in the Shiva area of Sopore, leaving at least seven sheep dead inside a sheep fold and several others injured, causing panic among residents.
The sheep belonged to local resident Showkat Ahmad Dar. Following the incident, locals appealed to the authorities to take immediate steps to ensure safety and protect both people and livestock.
Officials said teams from the Wildlife Department reached the spot soon after receiving the information and have launched a search operation to trace the leopard and prevent further incidents in the area.
