Jammu: A deaf and mute couple in Jammu belonging to Kashmiri Pandit migrant community has appealed LG govt to restore their pension which they were receiving from the Social Welfare department monthly in Jammu asserting that they are financially not well.

However, the govt has said that the husband-wife duo are Kashmiri migrants due to which their pension from the other department has been stopped as they are receiving monetary relief from the Relief and Rehabilitation department.

“My parents have been receiving pension since 10 years. When we went to the concerned department one of their employee behaved boorishly with us and told us that we can approach to any higher authority we want, but our pension will never be restored again”, said son of the Mute and Deaf couple.

“They apprised we’re Kashmiri Pandits that is why our pension has stopped. I told her about my parents condition but the employee said that it is  not their fault and we can go to anyone we like”, he added.

“I appeal to LG sir to please pay my parents pension”, he appealed.
