DGP was accompanied by a number of senior police officers during the inauguration ceremony of the Katra Police complex.

Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of the event, DGP Dilbag Singh said, “The Katra’s police station location is very significant in itself.

“There are numerous pilgrims who come to pay obeisance to Vaishno Mata and they use to take police aid sometimes to have darshan and to register complaints.

“The police station building was old and in dilapidated condition due to which 5-6 years we started the construction of this police station complex so that it can cater to the needs of personnel, devotees and locals.

“This police station complex is modular in comparison to other police stations in J&K. There is still need to modify the complex for the police jawans which will be done.

“It still lacks sitting space for people and it is being made for people. But overall this complex is the most beautiful in terms of its area, layout, construction.

“We introduced a new scheme and gathered funds to complete the construction of this police station complex because the earlier scheme under which it was being built was stopped. I am so glad that the construction of this complex is finished and we have dedicated this to the public service”.
