Jammu Horror: Man kept as ‘slave’ in house for years

Jammu: A horrendous incident has been reported in which a man was allegedly held captive in a house in Ward No.11 of R.S Pura of Jammu as a slave for three years, who has been rescued from the hostage of a man by  the volunteers of an NGO named as Shaheed Bhagat Singh today.

As per report, the matter came to attention when some volunteers of Shaheed Bhagat Singh (NGO) raided the house of accused namely Gurcharan Singh s/o Ishar Singh r/o R.S Pura  a retired soldier and discovered the man who appeared as  timid, scared and weak.

In a video a volunteer of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) NGO can be seen taking the victim in his custody and interrogating the accused in police presence.

“What is name of this ward and where do you work, he is retired man from army, from where you have brought this man”, A volunteer of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) NGO questioned the accused in the video.

“This is the man we have been trying to find since two years when we got a video on him. He has been keeping the man as hostage”, he said.

“He has kept the victim in hostage and look at his condition. Why have you held him in your captivity as slave”, he asked accused.

“We have sent him away from here many times but he keeps on coming back here”, said Gurucharan Singh.

“They used to thrash him and used to lock him up”, the SBS volunteer said.

“It’s been only 4-5 days since we kept him here and we don’t beat him”, Gurucharan Singh added.

“He has not eaten food since 2-3 days he is also somebody’s son”, the SBS volunteer questioned.
