Jammu, Dec 06: Scores of members of Safai Karamchari Union Jammu on Tuesday held a protest in favour of their demands in Kathua, Jammu.
Shouting slogans like ‘Hail Safai Karamcharis Union Jammu’, ‘Revolution will come when red colour will flutter in the sky’ against the local and the Central govt the protestors expressed their demands to the media.

One of the protestors allegedly told the media that the govt has made a joke of their concerns when they hiked eleven rupees in their existing Rs 300 per day.
“They humiliated us by increasing eleven rupees and in such times of inflation, what will we do with this. A minister’s plate costs Rs 2500 and that officer who hiked Rs 11 for the safai karamcharis has dehumanised us. Yesterday, our CO sir appointed sanitation workers in our place who were out of Jammu district and this is utter injustice with us. They were paid Rupees 1500 for the work. The municipality committee officers of Kathua are corrupt because the masks, gloves and vehicles which the govt has provided for our aid is being used by them””, he allegedly said.
He further said that how could they admit their kids to school with such amount of wage they get every month.
“On Wednesday, we are going to conduct a rally here and if possible we will also march to Delhi to address our concerns to the central govt”, he added.
