He further continued that the local administration has failed to protect the lives of people and it is the job of JMC, Jammu  to mark unsafe old buildings in their areas  and to demolish them in time to avoid any tragedies but they only turn up at the last moment.

Such old constructions must be marked, examined and it is also the responsibility of the high court jammu to take quick cognizance of such matters, while the municipal corporation seek to make Jammu a smart city but they do not pay attention to happenings around, he added.

Incessant rains which leads to water logging is emerging a major issue in many areas of Jammu and the government must ensure the safety measures and must keep track of old constructions, as per sources.
