Going tough on the employees and ensure punctuality in the Government offices, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu directed all the controlling officers to ensure biometric attendance of all the employees in their respective offices.
An official spokesman said that UT Government has issued various instructions from time to time to ensure punctuality in Government offices but it has been reported through various quarters that punctuality is not being maintained in the offices. In view of this, the Government directed all the Deputy Commissioners/ Divisional heads and other controlling officers to follow fresh instructions in letter and spirit and ensure biometric attendance of the employees on daily basis.
Further, the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed not to entertain the salary bills of any Government Officer/official without corroborating the attendance on biometric system, the spokesman said.
